For our teens, working at Home Plate marks their first step into the “real world.”

Application Process

• Complete the online application.
• Attend one of the orientations available.
• Participate in the training session at the concession stand.

Orientation

Teens have three options for orientation, which lasts 60 to 90 minutes and is an essential part of their training. Even those who have worked at Home Plate in previous seasons must attend one of the orientations.

Orientation Dates/Times

(the teen needs to attend 1 orientation)

• March 8 from 1:00-2:30 pm
• March 8 from 2:30-4:00 pm
• March 10 from 5:00-6:30 pm

Training

Our training day is scheduled for March 14 and will be a 2 to 3-hour shift led by our experienced teen mentors. For some, this training will serve as a refresher, while for others, it will be entirely new. If a teen cannot attend the training day, their first shift will serve as their training shift, which is unpaid. Should they miss the provided orientations, the training manager or one of our teen leads will ensure they receive the necessary information.

Shift Scheduling

Teens are compensated by parents who opt not to volunteer at the concessions. These parents pay a buyout fee, and 100% of this fee goes directly to the teen. Additionally, teens can earn tips; however, the amount varies based on daily contributions from customers.
