At South Kitsap Eastern Little League (SKELL), there are numerous ways to get involved as a volunteer. Every individual, from our managers and coaches to team parents, umpires, scorekeepers, and even our entire Board of Directors, contributes their time and effort as a volunteer. By participating in our Little League, we aim to guide and shape our players into respectful, trustworthy, and responsible citizens.
Team Structure
- Each team requires one manager and at least two coaches to assist in managing the team.
- The manager oversees the team during practices and games.
- It’s incredibly beneficial for each team to have a Team Parent who helps the manager with administrative tasks.
- Every team is encouraged to participate in the SKELL-A-Thon Fundraiser and will need a SKELL-A-Thon Organizer to help achieve their fundraising goals.
- Starting from the Coach Pitch division and upwards, each team will also need a scorekeeper.
- Within in Minor, Major, Junior and Senior Divisions, each team must provide at least two umpires to volunteer. This should not fall on the manager’s duties.
Volunteer Requirements
All volunteers must complete the online registration via our website to be eligible to volunteer at SKELL. After completing the registration, volunteers will receive an email from Little League within a few days to finalize their background check through the national data center. Additionally, each volunteer is required to complete the online Abuse Awareness training provided by Little League.
